GENERAL RULES
Game Forfeiture: An Official forfeiture will take place if a team has less than 7 players at game time. However, the league still encourages a practice game to take place. If you need a girl to fill in, they must be registered girls within the league. Coach may not choose who the fill in is, that will be left up to the board members and the coach of the team from which the fill in player comes from.
Early Departure: All early departures by players before the game is officially over must be brought to the attention of the opposing coach and the official scorekeeper. No out will take place for the player leaving if due to an injury.
Substitution/batting: All players must bat and in batting order. Free substitutions may be made in the field only.

Equipment:

Gloves/Mitts: All players must have a glove. Mitts may only be used by the catcher and 1st baseman.

Helmets: All helmets must have chin strap and face mask.

Fielders Mask: To be worn by all infielders of all age divisions. 12u and under will be required on the outfield. 14u/16u is strongly encouraged for the outfield.

Playing Field: All team members, including coaches, team representatives, and players will remain inside the playing field during the course of the game. (Exceptions: warming up and restroom breaks with permission of the coach)
Any equipment borrowed from CCGSA needs to be returned at the end of each game/practice for use by others.

Bookkeeping: Official books will be kept by the home team.

Softball type: See USSSA Rule book.
Ejection: The coach is responsible to encourage and deescalate parents in the stands. If a parent is ejected from the game, then the Head coach is ejected also.
Code of Conduct for Players, Parents, Spectators & Coaches
The Crawford County Girls Softball Association (CCGSA) is a community organization that sponsors youth softball activity emphasizing fun, fair play, and sportsmanship. The mission of CCGSA is to enhance every participant’s enjoyment of their softball experience. To better achieve this goal, we are outlining a Code of Conduct for all parents, coaches and players involved in CCGSA. The Code of Conduct is a written contract between the parents, players, and coaches to abide by the rules and regulations of the game as well as maintain a cooperative attitude and uphold the ideals of fair play and sportsmanship. This contract is more than just paper; it is the essence of our goals and objectives and thus, adherence to it is of primary importance. Children who wish to play, parents who want their children to play, and Coaches who wish to coach on teams for CCGSA are required to agree to and to sign this Code of Conduct.
PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT
All players Will …
Display good sportsmanship and team play at all times. Follow the direction of the Coaching Staff. Show respect for all opponents, coaches, players, umpires, league officials and spectators. Make every attempt to be on time and ready to play for all games and practices. Inform coaching staff in a timely manner when unable to attend practice or games.
All Players Will Not …
Use abusive or profane language, taunt or humiliate any other player, abuse, mistreat or mishandle any CCGSA equipment or property (eg. Throwing, batting, helmets), threaten or fight any person while at any game or practice.
PARENTS & SPECTATORS CODE OF CONDUCT
Parents and Spectators will support the players, coaches, umpires, opponents and league or tournament officials. Parents and Spectators won’t "coach" or "officiate".
All Parents and Spectators Will …
Conduct themselves in a manner that displays the principals of good sportsmanship and team play. Show respect for all opponents, coaches, players, umpires, league officials and spectators. Inform the Coaching Staff of any disability or ailment that may affect the safety of their child. Comply with the decisions of league officials and observe all rules, policies and procedures as established or endorsed by CCGSA. Make arrangements to ensure that the players are punctual in arrival at and departure from CCGSA events. Be drug and alcohol free while at any CCGSA events. No Weapons allowed.
All Parents and Spectators Will Not …
Ridicule, demean, threaten, or engage in a confrontation with players, coaches, other spectators or umpires. If there is an issue that needs addressed parent or/spectator is to seek out a CCGSA Board Member.
COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT
Coaches will remain unconditionally supportive of the CCGSA commitment to the ideals of good sportsmanship, team play, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority. Likewise, coaches will remain sensitive to the physical and emotional well- being of the players.
All Coaches Will …
Be positive role models. Display and instill in their players the principals of good sportsmanship and team play. Conduct themselves in a manner that best serves the interests of the players, parents and CCGSA. Do their best to provide their players a positive experience. Ensure that their teams exhibit good sportsmanship at all times, win or lose. “Humble in Victory and Gracious in Defeat.” Treat all players, coaches, opponents, umpires, league officials and spectators with respect. Provide instruction in a manner that is constructive and supportive. Teach the game of softball to the best of their ability. Comply with the decisions of league and umpires and observe all rules, policies, and procedures as established or endorsed by CCGSA. Be drug and alcohol free while at any CCGSA event.
All Coaches Will Not …
Ridicule or demean any players, coaches, opponents, umpires, league officials or spectators. Argue with opponents, players, or spectators on any playing field or during any team function, tolerate behavior that endangers the health or well-being of a child, use any tobacco products in the dugout or on any playing field or during any team function (practice, game etc.)
CONCLUSION
The CCGSA Board Members reserves the right to impose penalties, including, without limitation, game suspensions, dismissal from the team, suspension or revocation of CCGSA membership for serious or repeated violation of this Code of Conduct or other conduct deemed to be harmful to CCGSA.
We agree to abide by the rules and regulations stated herein, and we are bound to all decisions and impositions of these rules. It is with the spirit of cooperation, for the betterment of softball and our family that we willingly abide by this contract.
